The Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Company has been helping our neighbors in need since 1942. We have immediate openings for volunteers as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, fire police and apparatus driver/operators. Girl Scouts in open to all girls ages 5-18 or Kindergarten through 12th grade. Yearly registration is $10 and financial aid is available. Monthly Leader meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm. at Saint David's Church in Gales Ferry. GRACEFest is an outdoor Christian music festival held in Ledyard, CT every summer. The fifth annual GRACEFest is planned for 19 July 2008 at Ledyard Fairgrounds. Ledyard Fair is a non-profit organization that hosts several events during the year. These events include the Annual Egg Hunt, Parade of Lights and Carol Sing, and the Ledyard Fair. Additionally the fairgrounds are utilized by various groups in town.
If you are interested in volunteering or even just have a suggestion or question, feel free to attend our monthly meetings at the Morgan Barn. Meetings are held on the thrid Tuesday of the month at 8 pm.

The Ledyard Garden Club meets the first Monday of each month (excluding July & August) at 7:00 PM at the Ledyard Senior Center. Membership is open to the public and prospective members may attend any of the meetings at the Senior Center.
Meets 4 times a year in October, December, March, and May at the Congregational Church. Also hosts special events at the 1793 Nathan Lester House which is open to the public Memorial Day to Labor Day on Tues, Thurs, Sat, and Sunday afternoons.
The Republican Town Committee meetings are held on the second Monday of every month at the Town Hall Annex. The Republican Town Committee is a state chartered committee that represents Republicans in Ledyard. It is active in promoting a vision for our town and excellence in choosing candidates for appointed and elected office.
Your interest may lead you to become a member of the committee or to volunteer to serve on the numerous Town Boards and Commissions.
